What the hell is British Underground?

British Undergroundとは一体何者？

British Underground is a monthly Tokyo club, run by a non-profit company (also called British Underground) based in London and funded by Arts Council England. BU’s job is to help British independent labels find an audience for their artists around the world – as well as our Tokyo club we also run major events in Europe, parts of Asia and the US, where we have recently started a radio show. We’ve helped shaped the careers of The Pipettes, Amy Winehouse, Winterkids and more.

British Undergroundはロンドンを拠点に活動をしているBritish Underground （英国のArts Council が出資）という非営利団体の東京オフィスにより東京で月1回開催されているクラブイベントです。Brutish Undergroundのミッションは、イギリスのインディーズ・レーベルのサポートをし、彼等の擁するアーティストを世界に広めていくこと・・・。東京の他にも、アジア、ヨーロッパ、アメリカでもイベントを開くなどイギリス音楽を世界に発信しています。最近ではラジオも始め、またThe Pipettes, Amy Winehouse, Winterkidsなどを総力的にプッシュしたのも私達！

Our Tokyo club is run by music journalist Daniel Robson, who DJs on behalf of NME magazine, and features music sent directly to us by British labels before it’s released – in other words, we play you the best new British music before anyone else in Japan.

東京のイベントは音楽ライター、Daniel Robsonがイベントオーガナイザーかつ英国音楽雑誌ＮＭＥを代表し、英国インディーズ・レーベルより直接British Undergroundに届いた最先端のチューンをリリース前にお届けします。まだ日本ではリリースされていないレアな楽曲が聴けちゃうわけです！
